We take gas safety seriously here at Johnson Gas Heating & Plumbing and it is important to note that ALL of our engineers are Gas Safe Registered.
Your Boiler and all Gas Appliances need a little TLC from time to time to ensure they are running as they should be. Similar to your cars MOT, the primary reasons for this are safety and efficiency.
- As you may be aware, carbon monoxide poisoning caused by faulty or poorly maintained appliances can be fatal. When gas does not burn properly, as with other fuels it produces excess CO- you can not taste, smell or see it but it can kill within hours!
- Deposits build up inside the boiler and central heating system which reduces efficiency, which in turn means higher gas bills.
What a Johnson Gas Heating & Plumbing Service includes…
- Boiler and controls inspection to make sure they’re working properly.
- A check for corrosion and leaks.
- Removal of the casing of your boiler to inspect the main components.
- A gas pressure check.
- A test on the flue to make sure it’s not emitting any unsafe fumes.
- A thorough clean of the parts (if tests indicate they need it).
- Reinstating the casing and checking the seals.
- A Gas Safety Certificate will be supplied at the end of the service.
DO REMEMBER – New build properties and newly installed boilers require a service to maintain their warranties. Don’t let the lack of a service result in a manufacturer refusing to carry out the warranty work you are entitled too!
